My darling, it's been almost 6 years--so hard to fathom! In many ways I've learned that it is as said: When we grieve deeply, we don't get over our grief, it just gets different. Sometimes, it still feels like the first month; I still find myself feeling that I should be able to turn around and talk to you, that you are just behind me. You still are--and always will be a daily part of my life and I love you deeply, Gene.

Dear Helen; I am so sorry about Gene's passing. And I am sorry that I am late with this. I was out of town and not checking my facebook or emails I am having a hard time finding the words to comfort you. You and Gene are just close to my heart and that makes this so hard. I do , You don't get over it, you just get through it. You don't get by it, because you can't get around it. It doesn't 'get better'; it just gets different. Everyday. I would love to take your pain away, but even I know that is not possible. Please know that I love you dearly my friend and am here for you. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. Please find comfort in knowing that. Gene,brought so many gifts to our life, I will never forget him.
